What is Girls Got Game?

Girls Got Game is a fun and friendly basketball programme for primary and intermediate school-age girls. Basketball is a fantastic sport for girls, helping to develop movement and thinking skills in a fun social team environment.

Girls Got Game is for Girls coached by Girls where possible with the aim to increase the participation of girls in Basketball.

What does the programme provide?

  • FUN and FRIENDLY experience

  • SUPPORTIVE and NON-COMPETITIVE environment

Girls Got Game is based on Basketball New Zealand’s Kiwi Hoops programme but is modified to meet the needs and preferences of girls. It is a flexible programme and can be modified to suit the needs and resources of participants, schools and providers.

Girls Got Game aims to introduce more young girls to basketball and encourage them to continue being active and enjoy basketball with their friends.

 

All girls that participate in the programme get a Girls Got Game branded Basketball and Water Bottle.

When does the programme start?

Girls Got Game will start on February 11th at 12:30pm and will run for 6 Sundays with the final session for Term 1 being held on Sunday the 17th of March. (Can change due to court availability)

Is there a cost to the programme?

Yes. Its $30 for the programme. 

Please make the payment to SBA Bank Account 03-1750-0494294-00 - When making the payment can you please put your Child's name in the "Reference" field and "GGG" in the "Code" field.
